A few weeks ago, I read a blog review of a new frozen gluten free product. It was for battered fish or fish sticks. My mom had just mentioned that they were having fish sticks for dinner. While I had tried another brand of gluten free fish fillets or sticks, I hadn't been impressed. Then a read a review about Starfish Gluten Free products, did a search and found they were in my local grocery store. I told forgot to mention this to Mr80grit as he is always looking for a quick easy meal for us on our busy days. Then last week he found these all by himself. So last week we tried the Halibut which was good and tonight was the Cod. Both were good but our preferences was for the halibut.
But I have to say I was just excited for something to taste like I remembered when I ate gluten. I liked that the batter had a good flavor on its own and was light and not heavy. It pair great with french fries. Sometimes the comfort food of the past can make my day, even battered fish. So instead of a Irish meal for St. Patrick's day, we ended up with an english meal of fish and chips. But we are okay with that today.

We've been using Blue Chip Groups Rice blend as a breading for fish (coat and pan fry). It's very tasty and making it into a batter wouldn't be too hard.
