Catching up from the weekend

I meant to blog yesterday about the weekend. It was filled with fun, adventure and yarn.  After work on Friday, Preston convinced me to head to a local coffee shop to try some coffee.  It was downtown by the city library which meant we had to walk a ways which normally would have been okay had it not been pouring rain.  I felt like a wet dog by the time we got into the shop.  Even my socks were wet, yucky. But we got a cup of coffee and I did a little knitting.
See that almost finished sock? Well I hated it, the needle size was driving me crazy so once we got home, I frogged it. Re-balled the yarn and started over.

Saturday morning meant sound practice at the church. We headed home grabbed Amy J and headed to the Great Basin Fiber Fair where we got some fiber and I got a cute project bag.
The skein of sock yarn closest is yarn that Amy J bought for Emily. I will knit the socks. The other green is sock yarn for Preston. The two other skeins are for a shawl for myself.  I love my sheep bag, perfect size for socks.  After dropping Amy off, it was off to another coffee shop.  This time we found a coffee that we really enjoy.
Coffee on nitro is the closest I am going to get to Guinness beer. It was delicious. I am much happier with the bigger needles. I didn't work a lot on my sock on Saturday, worked on my Aerea shawl and completed on Sunday.
I can't wait to block it to show its real beauty.  I am so excited about this shawl.  I love the sock yarn and alpaca lace.

Monday came way to quickly but after a busy day at the office. Preston picked me up and took me to the park so hear my boss' band play.  It was great and I knitted more on the sock.

Beautiful Rainy Day

Today is a perfect Saturday for me. It is raining and cooler than it has been all week. Perfect for knitting and catching up on blogs. The only thing that is making the day not perfect is that Mr80grit had to work today. He is required to work one Saturday a month. He loves rainy days as much as I do. Plus after work he is going to his former Science Club Teacher's 75th birthday party. Some how I don't have to go which is okay with me. Maybe I will head to the yarn store and do some card shopping also.

I have not posted in a while as I got some news regarding a love one on August 3rd and I am still processing the information.

This next week is that last week of summer schedule for work and we end it with bang on Saturday the 22nd with Summer Jam.

So off to enjoy the day, maybe take pictures if the sun comes out on some completed projects.

Rainy Spring Break

Well today starts my spring break. This is kind of weird to be on vacation at the same time as everyone else at work. I feel like I am back in school. Yesterday we had a meeting in regard to Student Fest (the school's idea of a recital is a rock concert), it was a lot of fun and now I am even more excited.

I am going to do some knitting on my Hanami - Dusty Stole today, I started another example of that with Jojoland Harmony but after Knitting Guild last night I think I will do a Swallowtail with the yarn instead. I also am trying to keep myself from running over to my favorite LYS to pick up some Sleeping Dragon yarn. She is a local indie dyer who spoke at the meeting last night. I have worked with her yarn in lace weight and loved it. She debuted her spring colors which I loved and would work for a shawl for a friend's wedding in June. More later when I can take pictures, just waiting on the sun.

Now to knit and watch videos, first day of spring break - jammies and videos!

Day One

Okay..first day of my new age. Things I am hoping to accomplish this year. To blog everyday but be okay with myself if I only get 5 of the 7 days blogged.

I am going to make healthier food and lifestyle choices.

I am going to knit projects that I really love not ones that should be done!

Some examples of projects I am enjoying are the following:

Rainy Day at the Fiber Arts Fair

Well it looks Autumn finally hit today, after high 80's all week the rain came this morning and really hasn't let up since. Which is great because I love that kind of fall weather, but today was the Great Basin Fiber Art Fair.

Mr80grit and my mom brave the weather and enjoyed the booths, from the look of the alpacas the weather wasn't too bad. But then again they have nice warm 'coats' on. I got some great fiber on this trip to Wheeler Farm. The farm is about 5-7 minutes from our home.

After a wonderful lunch at our favorite restaurant, Stella's Grill. Mr80grit and I headed to our favorite LYS to finish the got to have yarn for no reason. We meet up with fellow Ravelry friends to have fun knitting, talking and staying warm and dry.

Tomorrow Mr80grit and I plan to go chase the snow and some autumn colors. When we have sunshine I will take pictures of my wonderful purchases.

The End

It is finally the end of a very long work week. I am going to enjoy tomorrow by sleeping in, going to the library, going to my fav LYS to pick up Harry Potter Sock yarn. I have a bubble bath planned. Maybe I will even go out to dinner or late lunch with my hubby. That would be nice. Of course, there will be knitting and maybe even some pictures. I finished the Noble Fir socks and have started Toasted Marshmellow Socks. I need to cast on something just for me. Mr80grit balled the yarn for my next shawl.

I will be working a very weird schedule in October as my co-worker is going to be out for a while. She is the sweetest person and I hate that this has happened to her and wish her a quick recovery.

I am still going to the Great Basin Fiber Art this weekend. I can't not wait. I missed it last year and heard all about it and now I got both days off due to other awesome co-workers! I am going to have a ball of fun!
