Catch up recap

Wow it has been a few days since I posted last. I had drama at work that is going to take some time to work its way out.  But the weekend was fun. Saturday morning coffee with making angel food cake twice that day. I really like King Arthur Gluten Free flour.

I finished the first of the booties for Knit Night Knit a long.
Here is all of us with our finished bootie.

A little yarn purchase on saturday
I cast on the second bootie on the way to the movies on Sunday
My hubby was thrilled I wanted to go to the movies on Sunday and let me pick the movie which I totally enjoyed.

Fun time tuesday night

It has been a very long time since date night meant more than just going to our local favorite restaurant for dinner. Preston finally had a true day off and after having some time to himself, he planned a great date night.  He picked me up from dinner and we headed to the hills where it was much cooler than the 97 degrees here in the valley.

We had an enjoyable dinner and we took our time but we were home by 915pm.  We forget out close Park City really is.  I see us heading up there whenever we can this summer.

Enjoying my weekends!

I really liked my weekend. I got to spend a lot of time with my hubby and the girls.  Preston and I ran errands on Saturday which included new walking shoes for me. Lunch at our favorite place.

We came home to the gang outside in the backyard enjoying the sun and reading.  Then off to Costco for three of us. Then a quick trip home to change out people and then headed to a Summer Bash with great music. I was able to knit while listening to awesome music.

Sunday was the typical go to church, but then had lunch with friends J and T. We don't see them enough. I am hoping with Preston's change of schedule we can spend more time with them. Then we did the Angel Food attempt. First one was with Banana flour, this is not a good use of the flour.  Scored a -10 and immediately went into the garbage. The 2nd one was with some other gluten free flour, it was good but not my best. The flour was old and now I will get fresher and try again.

Also I woke up this morning to find that the niece of my heart has made her debut! I cannot wait to snuggle this one next month. It seems so weird not to be there for her birth.

Knit Night Recap

Friday night knit night was one of kind, with good food fresh from the pressure cooker. We had dog drama and great knitting done. We all had done our homework so we started at the same place (okay Amy had a little of the cuff left to do but I am not saying anything..nope not me...hee hee..). When it was all said and done we all got finished at the same spot. Very successful knit night!

Plus a little more knitting was completed on my 2nd square,

End of Week fun

Things are a little out of order this week, with knit night and date night swapping. After work Preston and I had time together to relax and then headed to our favorite place for dinner.  We talked and relax and some of our favorite wait staff was there and got to visit with them. As we were leaving Em and Amy J walked in, we stayed and visited with them while they had their dinner.
When we returned home, we found that China our youngest cat and very cute plus extremely soft cat was hanging out in her favorite spot the dirty laundry bag. She loves it when Preston empties it and it ends up laying on its side. It is like her own personal safe haven.  We are thinking of getting her own.
Today is a gorgeous day, the sun is out and it is only lightly cloudy with a little wind. I was able to take a short walk this morning as my left foot is been causing me some pain, I am giving it a little rest and stretching. Hopefully I will be back to my walking regime that I am enjoying. As I am back having coffee each morning as we found a coffee that my body likes, but I am not over doing.
I am excited about knit night tonight. I am loving that we are doing a Knit a long, hopefully tonight won't be too stressful for our new knitters.

Yesterday's storm

11:30 am

Snow on mountains by night

I can't tell it is going to be one of those weird weather summers.  It really never was warmer that 49 degrees all day. In fact, hubby turned on the heat in the evening just to take the damp chill off the house. I so loved that act of kindness.  I love weather, especially raining weather. It does feel strange to be wearing a hoodie on my morning walks on Tuesday and Wednesday, especially since they are calling for near 90's by Saturday.

I am enjoying my morning walks for the most part. I upped my mileage too quickly last week and paid for it. So I have cut back down to 1.7 miles and will wait the seven days to up it again.

The Weekend

Wow, I can't believe the weekend is already over.  I feels like it just got here.  I got a bit of knitting done each day.  During band practice on Saturday afternoon and during the services on Sunday I worked on Preston's sock. Then some work on the KAL practice sock.  Amy cooked an awesome meal on Saturday.

Sunday was a little crazy with both services of church then lunch with brother and parents. Then we actually got a little nap and then had a wonderful dinner. Mr80grit is just working one job right now so I actually got to see him quite a bit this weekend. Loved it!

Wow it's the weekend

How in the world did it get to be the weekend? Time is truly flying. Which now that I look at the clock today I can't believe the time. I got up around 7 am and now just at the computer? Wow! I have a pretty good to do list today, I need to go to the butcher's, the grocery store, see my friends, grab a green tea before band practice at 230pm.  Then do some week long meal prep. My dear friend Amy has changed how I think about eating so now I am actually eating good food at each meal so I have to prepare ahead of time or I forget to eat and then I feel yucky. I have to say that I am feeling better than I have in a long time and look forward to feel better and stronger each day.

Today is kind of chilly after temps in the mid to high 80's near 90's the temp today is around 70 and in the backyard this am it was 60.  Chilled my green tea quite quickly. Well now for some pictures then off to start the rest of my day!

Knit Night - Applied String Knot Theory Class

There is a small group of us that try to meet at the girls house once a week to do a knit night on Thursday as much as possible. Last week, Em had testing for her yellow belt so that we didn't get together.  Last night we got together for knitting and food.  Three of us are doing a KAL. We are doing baby booties and beret. We are going as slow as the slowest knitter.

Our other friend is working on a scarf of her own design.  I cast on a 2nd yarn of the project so that I can knit ahead so that if we run into problems with the pattern, hopefully I have figured it out before we each it together.

On a side note, I have been knitting socks since 2006. Em was telling me I have probably knitted over a million stitches, I don't even want to think about it.

A little energy to start the morning!

Today after my wonderful cup of green tea, I enjoyed a little Root beer energy drink in a cheery glass.  It made my breakfast seem more like a celebration. It almost felt like having a mimosa.  It is Thursday, which means Knit Night!!! Or applied string knot theory class depending on the day. We are doing a KAL with a baby hat and booties.  I can't wait to see how this goes!!!

Mornings in the summer

Each morning since June 3rd, I have spent at least 15 minutes outside on the back patio enjoying either a hot cup of green tea or coffee.  I love that we have a small backyard and a nice view of the sky.  It puts me into a good mind set for the start of the day. With the days getting hotter, I am going to have to set my alarm earlier so that my walk is complete before it is too hot to enjoy outside!

A little update on Tuesday

First Corner

My Coffee
The weekend saw the finishing of the first square of the baby afghan and then today I was finally able to drink coffee again. I was so needed. I look forward to tomorrow's cup of coffee. I will be limiting the amount of coffee to just in the morning and then have green tea the rest of the time.  I also got a new phone and for some reason it won't upload picture posts to my blog but I did figure out how to get the photos from my phone without plugging it into my computer. I love technology!!!

New phone

I don't know what happens but I seem to kill a phone each year. This time I made it past student pictures today. But can't wait to try out this new phone camera
