A few days in the woods

As it happens each year in July, it is summer break for my work. This time is a little different. No grand road trips, but a little fun none the less. After running errands on Monday, hubby and I set off for the woods not too far from home. We tried a different campground. It was almost totally empty.

Then after a weird experience, we decided to leave that campground and go up the road a little further. I am so glad we did. We found a tiny campground with four sites, tents only right by the river.  So we set up camp and kicked back for two nights. I got a bunch of knitting done and hubby got some major reading in. It was awesome. Now we are home again and ready for the next part of our vacation

Virtual Vacation

This Saturday while out with Mom, Dad and Hubby having lunch, we took part in my brother MrHarley's trip to New York City.  My brother is on the East Coast for work and decided to go see the city.  He is a man of few words but it was awesome that he did send photos to my phone so that we could take part.

 I am missing one photo but that is okay. It was great to get them one at a time as he was visiting. I love technology!

Summer Vacation Planned

Well it is official. We are going on a small summer vacation along with a business trip. We just bought the tickets. I am so excited it feels like forever since we went anywhere. We are going to Grand Rapids MI in July. Yes I know it will be hot and humid but it is somewhere I have never been before so I am excited. My brother MrHarley spent over five years in Michigan when I was in high school and we never went out to see him. I sure wish we would have taken the opportunity but now I get to see a little bit.

Now it is time to think of who will take care of the kitties while we are gone. I know my dad will jump at the chance, he loves the girls. But we will have to see as it is the same weekend as my parents wedding anniversary.

Mr80grit made it back from his trip safe and sound late Sunday night. I was so happy to see him. I just don't sleep well when he is gone. I did get 2 1/2 repeats done on the wedding shawl and if the sun is out tomorrow maybe I will get a shot.
