Memorial Day
Memorial Day is always a day of reflection for me. I remember as a teenager being in my parents small hometown in Oklahoma and going to the cemetery. My pappy (grandfather) was part of the military group that would do a ceremony at the latest veterans grave then we would drive out about 45 minutes to the next cemetery and do it again. One year we were all there and the ceremony was at my uncle's grave. It was very touching. I always remember that and then the funeral of Pappy several years later. Even as a young kid I learned the lesson that Freedom is not Free, it comes at a very high cost.
