Gluten free waffle

I haven't had waffles since being diagnosised with Celiac disease but I was told of a place in town that had GF waffles. So for our date night we headed out there. Wow I have to say not bad. Very good flavor. Way to big for me to eat it all. I am now ready to go to sleep.

Slow Thursdays

I am currently enjoying a slow Thursday. Not too much going on, even though it is a busy lesson day here at the studio.  I have been reflecting on how blessed I am. I have a job that keeps me busy but not normally over busy. I get to meet new people almost everyday and for the most part, they are polite and nice.  I am enjoying watching the students grow in their knowledge of guitar and just plain grow up.  My life is so much different than a year ago.  I am truly blessed.

Nice Ending

After a really not great day for me. Mr80grit came home with a simple red rose for me.  It was just the best ending for a not great day.  Work was fine, I got some knitting done on my shawl and had a simple dinner at my favorite place.  The day wasn't great because I was able to go to this big fancy dinner we go to once a year. With my health being weird lately it just didn't make sense but still I missed going.  But the rose made me feel missed and loved.  That Mr80grit, he is good!

Simple project

Just a simple garter stitch scarf for a gift for someone.  After a lot of sock knitting and lace knitting, this is a nice simple project to have in my bag to knit when and wherever.  Just what is needed at the beginning of the work week.

Cloudy Sunday

We got some snow in the mountains this weekend. So far five avalanches in the mountains so the canyons are closed until they are cleared. But the skies and mountains are pretty today.

Complete 2nd Project from 2009

Last night after watching movies and television DVD episodes I was on the toe of the last sock of the Pookie Socks.  This morning I got up and finished an episode of bones and finished the toe.  Yeah!  I am so excited. Now I will have to focus on the shawl but I did cast on a hat for myself for knitting when not at home.

It snowed

It finally snowed today. It was clear for a little bit. I made it out to my favorite LYS today. I really like the new layout. I stayed for a little bit.

Mr80grit installed our new wireless router while I was out. Afterwards we watched the DVD julie/julia. It was fun and enjoyable. But now I am really hungry. So Mr80grit is in the kitchen. Time for dinner.

Lazy Saturday

Well I had grand plans today. I was going to go to church this morning during band practice to catch up on burning sermons cds then I was going to go to the library followed by a trip to my LYS. Instead I have stayed in bed snuggling in the covers reading a book. I think is will be a pajama day.

Friday Updates

I finished the fingerless mitts from last year and they are ready to be given as a belated birthday/christmas gift.

I have made headway on the socks and should finish the first sock this weekend. The shawl is slow going but trying to get some done when I can. I have been fighting a bug since last Thursday, nothing to bad but it has taken my energy so knitting is slow and unfocused. I have a three day weekend and plan to sleep more and knit more. My LYS did some updating over the New Year and I need to go see it. Have a great friday!

Secret Project at the Office

During the winter break at work, we did a remodel of the studio.  The first picture is the view from my old desk placement which was out in the reception area for the studio.  I was right by the front door and big glass window. Most all the walls were white with one or two bluish accent walls.

Now wow what a difference. I have my own office with a door that closes and a window to the reception area so that I can reduce the sound to make calls etc. The color scheme is great neutral brown palate.  I will do more picture later but this is the secret project that I was working on as I had to get a new desk over break and then help with the set up the weekend after the New Year so that we were good to go on January 4th.

Better Pictures to follow later. But I really enjoy the new set up!

UFO from 2009

I have 3 projects leftover from last year that I want to finish before casting on new ones. The first is the shawl in the picture. I have tried about ten different patterns for it before settling on Forest Canopy Shawl. I am less than half way on it.

I have a pair of socks for Mr80grit to finish and a pair of wristwarmers for my friend. So at least the other two projects are small and can be worked on anywhere.

Today is another cold day with bad air qaulity so I will probably stay home and knit. Sounds like a good Saturday to me!

It is cold

Isabelle wasn't moving from her warm spot on the couch this morning. I don't blame her one bit.

Relaxing Holidays

While most of the holiday I have fought a cold, I have to say this is one of the most relaxing times that I have had in quite a while. To have time off from work and not have to worry about things going undone has been sweet. This winter break after the first 3 days, no one was working (other than the boss).  I have spent a lot of time reading, sleeping, watching DVD's and spending time with Mr80grit. With the end of the holidays approaching it is now time to switch gears and think about work. During break there were some secret projects going on (not knitting) which I will share with you all next week.
