A little update
I did a little knitting this weekend on socks for Christmas with the lovely yarn that came in my fibreshare package from New York. Preston is excited about these socks. China was a good companion for watching college football on Saturday.

Wow a very long time
It has been a very long time since a did a blog post. Where has the year gone? Well I don't know, I have knitted a bit, work has been a little crazy and the summer too hot. Today is the first of September, which for some is the start of Pumpkin Spice Latte season, for me it means football and good knitting. At work it means the beginning of Winter, I know that sounds crazy but when you work for a transportation company that how it works. So here is some knitting photos to show for the missing year.
I will post more later but now I must getting going and not spend all day in front of the computer as I need to watch football, go to the bank and cast on a sweater.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Today is my mom's birthday and I am home sick with a bad cold and sinusitis. But plans are being made to get together next Sunday. Hopefully all of us will be well by then. This has been an extremely warm winter with hardly any snow. I am not looking forward to the summer if we stay this dry. Allergy season will probably start even earlier and last even longer. I really have no excuse before hand to step up my exercise routine. I did some knitting this week but not much as I felt crummy all weekend long. I was commissioned at work yesterday for a baby gift for February 8th. So I will be working on that this weekend and I don't feel up to much. I did make it to the doctor last night as being sick for a few weeks and just getting worse yesterday push me to do it. There was a comment by the doctor that I made it in time before it got worse. Since having my bad teeth taken care of most the time my sinusitis goes way after a while but about once a year it gets back enough to seek treatment.
Some things from this last week. I finished my last pair of socks cast on in 2017 at Christmas. Cute picture of little miss china, I got some happy mail earlier in the week with was a small notions bag, the seller always puts a little bag of tea that I share with a co-worker. Then yesterday I did finish a crocheted potholder. I am addicted to these, we use them more than knitted washcloths as I can make them big enough for Preston's hands or small for me. Plus they are 100% cotton and so easy to wash.

Wow a long time since my last post
I did not realize that it has been that long since I made a post on my blog. I have been quite well just very busy with work and knitting etc. I knitted my first sweater for myself this year and I love wearing it.
It is my end of day, knitting in bed project.
It is the sunset highway sweater, it is knit from the top down. I found the yarn when we went to Seattle for a belated anniversary trip in November. We made it to a few yarn shops but the one I was desperate to visit was Maker's Mercantile. I found this wonderful yarn that is a wool and linen blend. It is fingering weight and so soft. The sweater is perfect, not too warm and not to 'cool'. After the first day wearing it, I came home and cast on a Wallaby that I have had the yarn for maybe five + years. I know that it will be slow going but it will be worth it. I started with the sleeves first.
