Stream in the back

The guitar school that I work for has two locations. One in a strip mall(where my office is) and the other is a converted house. The house is located across the street form a historical farm. I was in the backyard tonight and found this little stream. I think it is cute!

A walk in the woods

On Thursday night, MR80grit and I ventured up the canyon again for a quick picnic dinner and a walk in the woods. We found ourselves on a path that ran parallel with the river. As you can see all the rain as caused the woods to really grow. Several areas were quite dense and here is a shot MR got of me coming through one spot.

Most of the picture MR took. He really likes my camera!

All the moss reminds us of a trip in Oregon we took about 5 years ago.

As the days are longer we get some awesome light in the woods even though it is about 8 pm in the evening.

Here is a shot of the Burrow socks. This is after MR successfully rescued the ball of yarn after it rolled down the hill a bit. After that the yarn stayed in my hoodie pocket.

Wednesday WIP's

Here is the roll call of my WIPs.

First I cast on a new sock for Mr80grit. It is really basic and currently ranks third in my knitting priority.

I am enjoying this socks as my travel sock. I even knitted this one in the dark at the drive in the weekend. I am calling it the burrow. It is the Weasley Homestead pattern and the yarn is Koigu.

Here is the wedding shawl known as wedding reflections. I am almost done with the second repeat. I really am enjoying the pattern and the yarn

When was .......

......the last time you went to the drive in movies? For Mr80grit and I, it had been years. Probably 11 years ago when we were dating. Tonight we wanted to go to the movies but what to see? Mr80grit came up with going to the drive in. It was great. We got to see two movies that we wanted to see for less than what it would have cost to see one at the theaters. We took our own treats and I even got a little knitting done in the dark. But now it I really late and we have an early morning. What an awesome Saturday!

Into the woods

I love it when date night is a picnic in the woods! The Mr and I picked up dinner and headed up millcreek canyon. It was awesome. The canyon doesn't fully open until July 1st but there was still enough places to eat and then take a walk! So much fun!

rain clouds

It has been rainy week here in Salt Lake. It makes you feel like you're in Seattle instead. While most are complaining mr80grit and I have been enjoying. The clouds are awesome to watch and the rain storms are for the most part very soothing. It makes for good knitting time.

Wednesday WIP's and FO's

Finished finally! Started in February after many other pairs of socks, only got a little attention until last wednesday.

Troop 705
3X1 rib sock
Yarn: Happy Feet by Rumplestiltskin (Logan, Utah)
Size 2 need

Grey Dawn shawl still needs to be blocked.

Aspen Grove Shawl that was completed June 2008 still needs to be blocked.

The book I am starting today.

My goal for this week: block both shawls, work on the Wedding Reflections Shawl. It got no time this week do to the sock focus and my knitting area was in upheaval due to a new printer being installed. I knit right by our computer area when working with charts as the light is better.

Basket of goodies

Yesterday I received this wonderful basket of bath goodies from a student and his mom. I was totally shocked. They are leaving for the summer and want to give his teacher and me a little something. I can't wait to enjoy this. I will miss this little family this summer. I really love where I work now.

WIPS on Wednesday

So some more knitting stuff...I joined a group on Ravelry that has to do with completing WIP in June. I only have two on the needles right now. One is the Troop 705 socks that have been in my bag for months. I am almost done with the first sock. It is just a basic sock but still....so this is getting the highest priority for now as I am totally ready to do a different sock.

The next is the shawl for my friends wedding, I have named Wedding Reflections because I am not planning to have it done until after the wedding on June 27th. It is an adaption of the North Star Pattern from Arctic Lace.

This is the book I also in the middle of right now.

That is an update of all my WIPS. Have a great wednesday!
