I don't have any deep thoughts tonight. The first snow for sum of the valley arrived today but we only got rain at work and at home. Mom said they got enough to stick. We did have to turn the heater on just to take the dampness out. It is still chilly in the house. It looks like bedtime for me.
Major migraine over the weekend, roared loudly last night with only a few hours of sleep. My coworker D also had a major migraine but both of us feeling queasy. All that made the day long, but now I have had dinner, found the knitting book I was looking for (thank you Mr Preston), and I have made a little process on the 2ND sock. Now to bed for reading and an early sleep
Rough start to the weekend, early morning migraine. Pretty much stayed in and knitted. Preston did the running around. First coffee, a few errands, lunch with Emily which was sushi. He brought home some for me.Heather came for the game. Utes beat Washington huskies. I finished a sock and cast on the second.
I fought the company cold all week but it finally landed Friday night. Luckily this weekend wasn't too crazy so I was able to take care of myself. Monday was maniac but now home in my pajamas ready for an early night.
Home now from the hardest thing I've ever had to do. The house feels quieter, even China seems sad. The last few months wherever I got home Fergie wanted to cuddle. The past few days have been so hard seeing her hurting and knowing the end was coming. Cuddling was the only thing that comforted her, see my personal fluffiness came in handy. The ride to the vet was quiet with a meow leaving the house and then one in the van. She was able to smell the fresh air and ride snuggled in my arms. The staff was awesome and we got to hold her through it all. They left us to say our goodbyes.
So good night my little girl. You will always be a part of me.
My little fluffy snuggle cat is failing, today was filled with hours of snuggles. But it is soon to say goodbye. She is 14 years old. She is very uncomfortable and has stopped eating. She went to the vet 10 days ago and they told us that her kidneys were fading. It is just so hard to say goodbye.
After last night's cast on for the second sock, there was a knot in the yarn and it was too close too the start of the sock to make sense. So I cut the yarn at the knot, threw away what I already did. This evening I recast the sock. Now for a little reading before bed.
Socks have been my go to project all through the job hunt and first month of the new job. But I finally completed a baby afghan that has been on the needles since June. I have a repair project and a shawl that have been in process longer but at least one major project is done.
It seems like I have only the patience for socks these days. Probably as they are easily knit while riding in the car even in the pre dawn hours. I started a new job in a new industry for me so by the time I can knit at night my brain just wants simple. So I have listened. Benefit for me is two pair of socks and one pair for Christmas gifting.
Of new adventures I find myself nervous and excited with a little touch of fear. I have had the same job for over six and a half years with a pretty easy going boss and some awesome people. Now it is all the unknown, I know that God's hand is in this and He will be with me all along the way. I have prepared socks to knitting on during the commute and my first outfit is planned. Now it is time to relax and quiet my mind for a good night's sleep.
After six and a half years at an awesome job, today was my last day. My hours got reduced in January so I had to find a new job. So after looking for six months I got an offer last Friday, I finished training my replacement today and start on Monday. My boss brought me balloons and flowers along with a card to my office today.
As I am someone who always has to have socks on the needles, it was time to cast on a pair today. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon so I wanted to make sure that I had the sock already started. Plus it's socks for Preston so they have more stitches so they normally take longer to knit. I am trying a new sock yarn for me. Heritage print, let's see how they stand up to knitting and wearing.
