Happy birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 76th birthday. We went to our family favorite restaurant. We had a grand time with the parents and the girls. We went to A&EM's for dessert of brownies and ice cream. It is one of Dad's favorite desserts.

Date Night

The water was turned off this am, not back on until after 6 pm. Hubby decided we would eat out, plus it was too hot to grill. The temperature was 101, I really hate hot weather. We went to a local Mexican restaurant. We finished the dinner with flan. All in all a good Thursday.

Dave

Yesterday my family got a little quieter. My mom's cousin Dave died after a battle with Emphysema. I didn't have many opportunities to get to know him but I sure enjoyed those that I did. His laugh is what I remember most - very loud and very contagious.  He talked very loud and told great stories.
I still have the 2 dollar bill that he got us three girls (his daughter, my cousin and me who are about the same age) at the dog track.  He is going to be missed greatly by all.  He lived in Colorado for the last part of his life so the picture of the pines made sense to my mind.
